Enhancing inclusiveness of STEM courses, programs, and teaching of diverse learners.
At the Institute on Inclusive Teaching-STEM, our goal is to provide a foundation for curricular alignment and shared pedagogy between VCU, JTCC and Reynolds.
Our plan of action:
- Adapt VCU’s Institute on Inclusive Teaching (IIT) to have a specific track focused on STEM disciplines, which will provide VCU, JTCC, and Reynolds faculty members a range of opportunities, strategies, and techniques for creating inclusive STEM pedagogy.
- Build strong faculty communities across VCU, JTCC, and Reynolds. Connecting faculty groups and enhancing the inclusiveness of STEM courses will increase the performance of transfer and AALANA students.
